At Skidmore I have gotten to know my professors in ways that I almost never hear about at other institutions. I find myself stopping by Professors offices multiple times a week, not to talk about anything specific but just to catch up with them. Professors are always inviting students over for dinner and taking interest in our personal lives. This has really enhanced my educational experience at Skidmore and is a real distinguishing factor for the school. Students do need to take the first step in initiating professors in going beyond the class room but are very receptive to students that do so.

Skidmore students benefit from small class sizes and professors teaching every class, and are able to engage in one on one research opportunities with faculty that dont often happen on a undergraduate level. I have enjoyed being challenged by my classes at Skidmore and working closely with faculty- these experiences have certainly shaped my academic growth.

Yeah…that’s nice and all, but you realize this forum is just for whiny high schoolers trying to get into Ivies, right?
