professors with md

can mds become professors? or do u need a phd

Depends on what kind of professor you're talking about. Certainly the chair of the department of biology is usually a PhD. Lecturers to medical students are usually MD's. Valued researchers in a medical school's research department -- say Immunology -- will often be MD/PhD's.

Speaking technically, academic physicians are usually on faculty with a medical school. Officially, that makes them all professors -- and the vast, vasy majority of those are MD-only.
