@speedygonzo335
You have more than a couple of threads looking for easy scholarships or ways to get money for college.
Could you please clarify…are you currently a college student?
Why are you seeking programs other than ones associated with Americorps?
Do you have a college degree or any special skills that would make you a good Peace Corps candidate…I will add…PC volunteers don’t get tuition assistance. The only college related thing my kid got was cancelation of part of a Perkins Loan. She was a college graduate.
I’m not an advocate of military service only for college money purposes…BUT if you are interested in the military…what about ROTC, or reserves?
It would be very helpful if you could tell us exactly what you are seeking…instead of this group of threads with one line of info.
Some college groups do have scholarships for their members. Usually they are VERY competitive These are with national groups, local groups,STEM groups. But you can’t just join and expect to get a scholarship. They usually go to juniors and seniors, or even grad students, who have paid their dues, who have set up booths to promote the organization, who have served as officers.
You can keep posting these threads with your different ideas (public service, ‘Not’ Americorps, honor societies) but it really would be more helpful to you to tell us what you are trying to achieve, what your stats are, which schools you are looking at.
There are people in AmeriCorps without college degrees.
There are plenty of people in Americorps who do not have college degrees.
@sylvan8798 there are NOT plenty of people in Teach for America or the Peace Corps who don’t have college degrees. And those without college degrees have significant life experience that is relevant to their assignment.
ETA…it would be very helpful to know where this OP is…a HS grad? A college grad looking for a way to repay loans? What is his need?
He has several threads on the topic of finding easy money for college…and all are one liners with no information that enable folks to give him decent advice.
I would find it hard to believe that There are people in TFA without degrees as you will still have to fulfill the state’s requirement to teach. I know in NYS instead of getting an initial/ provisional certification you get a transitional B certification because you have not met the requirements to teach
It would probably help to know what OP has against AmeriCorps as well.
Get a job at UPS or Starbucks…they have tuition assistance for college students.
I just don’t understand where this poster is coming from or want to head to. I’ve read past posts…some are about online schools. Some are about medical careers that are top schools but accept over 50% of applicants. Some are about getting easy scholarships.
Then there is a thread about schools like Rice, Duke and Wash U.
To be honest…this all makes NO sense…at all.
I have to say…I have to wonder if all of these posts are for real.
You’re bringing up other discussions that do not pertain to my question. If I wanted to give you anymore info, I would have already done so, but the thing you will not do is to keep annoying me in order to give out info. I do not feel comfortable identifying myself.
MODERATOR’S NOTE: Turns out the OP is a multiple account of a banned user. He or she also posted “back up” comments from two other accounts. All accounts have been banned.
