Yes, they did mention separately PR services for a certain amount of time (6 months?).
I’ve seen that “little” detail over the years. In the past Heidi was a producer, so I knew she was a loud “voice” - and it showed!
Happy with the result. All three were good. I was surprised that they just worked in NYC for a week and didn’t go home for a month of making the collections. Is this the new normal or just because it was all stars?
It’s been the first on past All-Star seasons. But clearly there has to be a lot of prep work involved beforehand; there’s no way you can whip a collection from scratch in 8 days.
Well you just go to Mood, buy some thread, stitch up a collection.
I could probably sew one pair of Brittany’s pants in 8 days.
I was pleasantly surprised with the winner. Bishme is talented and a genuinely nice person.
I had a hard time deciding between Bishme and Laurent. I like Bishme’s show and glad he won, but I also think Laurent is so talented.
I am not sure anyone has commented up thread ever about this- but I am not a fan of Elaine as a judge. She she seems so biased (or obvious who her favorites are) and I found it annoying throughout this season.
Same. She seemed very anti-Rami all season.
I agree. She had an obvious her bias against Rami. I was even surprised when she said to the guest judge “You gave Brittney an 8”? She had her obvious favorites from the get go. When Kara Shaun had some (imo) really bad outfits, she was always defending her.
I really like Bishme but had higher expectations for his show. I thought Laurence had the better show.
Just saw the finale and was happy Bishme won.
While I don’t think she should have won, I did think Brittany’s collection was cohesive and more “elevated” than I expected. Loved the pants.
And a collection in 8 days?! Why so little time this season?
Only Brittany mentioned her co worker thru that week.
All 3 could have been helped using PR and brand labeling. I wondered if the winner was 31, and Laurence 47, made a difference.
I think the real factor was the interview by the mentorship representative. He liked all three designers but it was obvious (at least to me) that he thought both Brittany and Lawrence’s collections were too limited in scope. Brittany only focused on athletic wear and Lawrence was focused too much on leather (something he specifically mentioned during the interview). Bishme was the only one with a wide range of styles/ fabrics (plus he had accessories).
I’ll also add that while Lawrence was a superior tailor that the leather she used was not forgiving and just isn’t good for ready to wear which is the biggest market. She just didn’t have the pieces in her collection (or any other point in the season really) which showed she could make great stuff out of other fabrics.
Did Laurence ever make a garment that was not leather this season besides the challenge when all designers used the same fabric?
INO Bishme’s collection showed the most variety. Brittany’s was very similar except different colors. I did like her flowered cover up thing. Lawrence made the same pants 10 times this season and several times in the runway program.
Bishme had the checked day dress and the gorgeous black final gown in the same show.
I don’t know how to link the article, but if you google Brittany and Peloton, you can read about she has designed clothing for some of the Peloton instructors.
I think the red checked outfit was my favorite look from Bishme’s runway show.
FINALLY watched last night. Agree with many of the comments above. I’ll have to watch that after show.
While I don’t know if Brittany deserved to win (based on the season) I do think she stepped it up for the finale. Maybe Fabio helped her to move her designs up a level. I don’t know that they were ready to give her type of “wear” the win though.
I also agree that the interview with the FDA guy may have also been influential in the decisions. I think Laurent will be successful no matter what in a certain market - whether commercial or individual clients. Bishe will embrace the prize benefits - his win and him mom were very, very touching.
And I’ll say it one more time. I just LOVE Christian!
