pros and con's of a civil engineering masters from Texas tech.

I just got an email saying that I have been selected for the fall semester into the graduate program at Texas tech university with a masters in structures (CE). I am an international applicant, I want to know how is the campus life etc?
I have heard Lubbock is a small city with limited things to offer. I have lived in Texas before near Dallas area as an exchange student and I really liked living there, how different is the city of Lubbock from Dallas? Are the people too conservative? And if I was to stay back in the US and look for a job, how bright or dull are my chances of finding work with a masters degree from TTU. I am looking for a good college experience since I got into a very cutthroat and competitive university for my bachelors and I feel like I have missed out a lot on having a good time. Keeping all things in mind how good of an idea is it to be doing an MS in my area from TTU?

I’m sure the degree will do you good. Lubbock on the hand, is NOT Dallas. Your best bet is visit Lubbock before deciding. We visited in December to have a look. I was very satisfied with TTU as a university. The people were friendly & things were very organized. However, we were disappointed in Lubbock as a city/town. But I’m ok with it. I figure I’m going there to finish my undergraduate degree so 2 years is not bad. Like I said, visit before you decide.

I can’t visit, since I am an international student I’ll just have to decide sitting here.

Oh…well if you have any other questions feel free to ask. Perhaps someone else on here can help you out. About it being conservative, it is. That’s part of what attracted me to Tech.
