Pros and cons of History English joint major

I’m an international student at a high school in India who wants to go to uni in Canada. The major that I am hoping to study is History. I’m currently in A levels and going to graduate next year.

I am planning to move to Canada for my higher studies. Two types of major which are offered in history.

  1. History major with honours
  2. History English joint major / History Political science joint major. [ The course credit is divided equally ]

My question is a joint major worth doing ? Especially for Hist + Eng option ?
What are the pros and cons of joint major from the point of view of career ?
