<p>There is some critical commentary mixed into this lengthy thread, but there are infinitely more pros than cons to being here. The thread is slightly dated now, but I don’t have time to do this all over again, and probably no one else here does either right now, since midterms are about to start up. The main way that Stanford stands out from other top colleges is in its future orientation and dedication to interdisciplinary, newly-evolving studies. IMO only MIT comes close in those respects, but Stanford offers top academics across the entire range of liberal arts and sciences as well as engineering, and the weather here is way better than in MA.
