Pros/cons of laundry service?

<p>I just got a brochure about the Commodore laundry service in the mail yesterday. Can anyone tell me if they have had problems on a recurring basis with either:
1. lost clothing,sheets or towels
2.poor cleaning
3.clothes laundered incorrectly resulting in shrinkage,etc
4.damaged clothing</p>

<p>Is it hard to find empty washers/dryers if want to do your own laundry instead and are they located in each residence in the Commons? There is nothing like trying schlep clean or dirty clothes in the pouring rain or freezing cold outside between dorms,especially at night!
Do they do a good or bad job with dry cleaning?</p>

<p>Heard they can’t get starching right and shrink things, but all in all, sounds like a nice thing to have access to</p>

<p>Most people I know who use Commodore Laundry have no complaints. That being said, I don’t know anyone who still uses the service after freshmen year. Doing your own laundry is pretty accessible.</p>

<p>I used it for dry cleaning only and found it very convenient.</p>
