Prospective EE/CS Student valuing merit aid over all else. What schools?

https://financialaid.utah.edu/scholarships/freshman-general-scholarships.php lists some of University of Utah’s scholarships for entering frosh.

Note that some of them require a 3.6 college GPA to renew the scholarships in subsequent years.

I don’t see a cited GPA or ACT to qualify for full tuition? ? Am I missing that? Can’t say I can run an NPC so does the NPC for Utah give a guaranteed scholarship assessment based on GPA and ACT/SAT? 33/4.0 UW (rigour?)

Utah’s NPC is accessible thru College Board

Right, but I am not running the NPC, I just wanted to see where you could see that information?

Why not just use the NPC?

@Sybylla

i’m not quite sure what you are looking for. I found out about the Utah non-resident full-tuition Presidential Scholarship from this website that commonly pops up in these forums:
http://competitivefulltuition.yolasite.com/

so I went to Utah’s website and found this page:
https://financialaid.utah.edu/scholarships/search/details.php?id=6430

which says: “A scholarship for nonresident high school seniors who will be entering freshmen based on cumulative GPA and ACT/SAT scores. Value: Full nonresident tuition and mandatory fees are awarded for a maximum of 8 semesters or until the student receives a baccalaureate degree, whichever comes first.”

it does not spell out exactly what GPA and SAT/ACT will win someone that Presidential Scholarship. but when I plugged in my son’s information on the U of Utah Net Price Calculator, it indicated that he would be awarded the scholarship. so if it is based solely on GPA and SAT/ACT, apparently my son’s stats are high enough to win it for 2017-2018.
