Based on the following, would I seem to be a good candidate for a decent MPH-Behavioral and Social Sciences/Health program? I’m particularly interested in addiction or mental health. Thanks!
UG major: Psychology - Behavioral Neuroscience, minor: philosophy
GPA: 3.15
GRE: 148/157/3.5
300+ hours of community service, multiple campus jobs, current neuroscience research assistant
Your GPA and GRE scores are quite low. The community service hours and campus jobs - it would depend on what they are. If you are a dorm monitor or library assistant, those won’t matter very much; what will matter is what kind of public health or social science-related things you’ve done. What was the community service in? (Also, in college/grad school, you don’t really report them in terms of hours - it’s more about length of service and impact over time.)
Most successful MPH students work for a couple years after college in a related area.
