Prospects for an accounting PhD?

I am currently considering an academic career in accounting and would like to know a few things about the prospects.

I have understood that there is currently a large shortage of accounting professors at universities. If I would complete a PhD program in accounting at a AACSB accredited business school with a decent dissertation how likely would it be to get a tenure track position?

I have also heard that the starting salaries for new accounting Phds are quite good (100k+). Is there any truth to this?

I would also like hear some comments about my chances on getting to a PhD program as my previous degrees as from foreign universities. Here's a little background info: I have a bachelors and masters degree in Economics and Business Administration, with a major in accounting, from a top Scandinavian university. I also have a masters degree in accounting from the London School of Economics. My grades are average and I have two years of work experience at one of the big4 audit companies. My only research experiences are from my masters thesis (5 months of research) and my bachelors thesis (1 month of research). I am a quite good test taker so I assume my GRE/GMAT scores would be pretty good.

How good schools should I target with these credentials?
