any news? i didn't see anything going on when i was at dwinelle earlier today

nevermind, apparently **** is hitting the fan

[Live Blog: October 7 Day of Action - The Daily Californian](http://www.dailycal.org/article/110671/live_blog_october_7_day_of_action)

And of course, they just had to get that tid-bit about the DREAM act in there. Disgusting.

How many different things are they protesting? Seems like a never ending *****-fest.

I’d be willing to wager that a substantial majority of the protesters are receiving financial aid and are pretty much unaffected by fee increases.

And then, to solidify what a joke these protests are, they’re protesting about pensions. Jeeze. I’d love to see any of these schmucks try to run a business.

What a joke…

Pulling fire alarms? Again? Really?

Why must a large majority of our student body feel they have to protest to get something done? Wake up! We are academics, think for once! The best way to get change is to be professional and lobby. Talk to your congressman, or something. Protesting at Berkeley is so common that the world just brushes it off as another hippy movement. Times like these make me so mad that we accept so many ignorant people!

^no where near a large majority of people support this.

agreed otherwise.

^^

I’m a Political Science major. A lot of my peers are protesting right now. It may vary from major to major.

they struck dwinelle and pulled the fire alarm in VLSB. Hopefully they weren’t having midterms in there, lol.

fudge. i was napping in vlsb when they pulled the damn thing-gave me a friggin heart attack.

I live in one of the dorms on the east side of campus. Very few people here seem supportive of the protest. On the south side of campus, the story is reversed.

i hate this place

so glad 2/3 of my classes today got canceled… and i’m just skipping the 3rd one, don’t want to have to deal with pushing past protesters.

Taking a midterm for the southern border and some moron decides to pull the fire alarm.

These people suck. Expel them all. Bastards.

I didn’t even know about this until I walked through sproul…

I’m also a political science major and nobody I know supports this (not even people in my PS discussion today) … Let’s not discriminate based on major…

My 2 cents:
If you want to increase pensions, you gotta increase tuition
If you want to lower tuition, you gotta cut staff and decrease pensions
… why are they protesting TOGETHER?!

This is a COLLEGE CAMPUS for STUDENTS… *** are the unions trying to take our tuition money to pay for services we don’t need? And why do students support this? The unions are acting not in our interest…

And pulling the fire alarm and having to PAY the fire department/other officials is NOT going to solve the budget crises…

My friend had a midterm in dwinelle I believe… and the fire alarm went off. They ended up canceling the midterm… sucks.

UC Berkeley Day of Action Protest:

■■■■■■■■ midterms for the heck of it.

Lmao. I bet the planners all had midterms today. What a ****en slick move.

Whose university? It’s not just yours betch. Let me do mah thaaaaaang.

I wanted to run through those banners they were carrying. Marathon runner style and then I’ll be like YEAH YEAH I got first. Then I’ll look around like oh ****, I got lost again didn’t I.

During midterms? I thought them ruining my CS discussion was bad. My TA was so funny, he was like, “this fire alarm is ruining my natural frequencies” and continued to teach until someone told us to get out of LeConte.

your TA doesn’t sound funny

someone should have stood up and pointed at your TA and then he/she shall exclaim: That’s what she said!
And walk out.
