Was the 2nd to last grid-in choice B? I know it’s 1/5, but i’m wondering if 1/5 was choice B or not. Because I randomly guessed at the last second, and don’t remember what I picked ;)

^^^It was 13/6.

…no, i mean the one with the ysqrt=5x or whatever it was. Was it B?

^for that one, I’m not sure what B was, but I got 1/5

hey for one of the sentence completions, did we all agree on apocryphal as the answer?
& does anyone know what letter that was? haha

^Apocryphal was right, and was choice E.

was 5/7 choice D?

I missed the super easy 2nd to last grid in about the combination. I didn’t read it carefully enough and thought you could only use letters once, so I did 26x25x10 instead of 26x26x10

Ughhhh.

Also, I thought the writing section was super hard? I took the practice last night and finished way before 30 minutes, and got 1 wrong, and today… I rushed my last 10 answers and also guessed on a lot… life sucks. hhaha

Hey, what did people get for the one about renting games from two stores?
For one, there was an annual membership fee of $30 and then an additional $3 for each game?
and then for the other store, each game was …$something?
Ring a bell, anyone?

I remember plugging in 11, and I think it worked – hoping that I didn’t make a silly error.
So i put 10 < n < 20
or something.
I think other choices were:
n = 20
n > 20
n < 10
…

EDIT: nevermind. although i meant to plug in 11, i plugged in 1 by accident. ■■■.
i was doing fine on practice tests… D<

classicgirll:
I got n>20

I actually still have the equations, y=6x and y=3x + 60 I think.
I hopefully got the right answer, unless I read it wrong

Alright, so it seems the majority of these questions came from the 2007 November SAT. Answers from that thread with the irrelevent answers removed (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/413078-nov-3-sat-version-1-nature-brain-hexagon-28.html)

the question about the y = xsqrt(5)…

Going back to the “best” versus “better” discussion on the Japanese anime sentence correction question and the fact that no consensus has emerged here, I would urge all interested parties to send an email to ETS to complain about the ambiguity of this question. It is amazing that a question that ambiguous could make it on to the PSAT. We are allowed to challenge the ambiguity of this question and page 6 of the Official Student Guide to PSAT says that one may write to:

Assessment Development, P.O. Box 6656, Princeton, NJ 08541-6656 or send an email to cbcanding@ets.org

I strongly believe the question should either be tossed or more than one answer be credited as correct.

Thanks.

Correct email address to write to ETS about question ambiguity is cbcandinq@ets.org

Thanks.

Will emailing them help our scores? :D

Can we tell them about the impair/minimize one too?

Also, I’d be wary to mention anything about discussing with other people and not reaching a consensus. :)

This is not 100% dispositive, but question # 18 on page 776 of The Official SAT Study Guide (2nd Edition) reads “Though best known as a jazz vocalist, he also enjoyed gospel music, whereby he told his manager that he wanted to make a recording of his favorite gospel songs.” Answer choices for the errors were: a) best known; b) also enjoyed; c) whereby; d) recording of; e) No error. The correct answer is given as c; in this question, “best known” was obviously not viewed as incorrect by College Board/ETS in this comparative context (jazz vs. gospel) or there would have been two errors in the question. Gives support to those who chose “No error” on the question on the PSAT involving Kyoko Kishida.

"While Ms. Kishida appeared in other films, including Mr. Teshigaharas Rikyu, she was best known in Japan for her voice-over work in animated films and television cartoons, including the long-running series Moomin.

Looks like “best known” will be viewed as correct usage by ETS, with “no error” the correct answer.

There was no way this question was ambiguous. Impair/minimize was by far the best answer.

Wait? what? the questions for this psat came from another SAT test? couldn’t people have done that as a practice? do they do that every year?
