PSAT 2010 Wednesday General Discussion

Well that’s just lovely…

icesk8girl , i don’t think i had that question on my psat. i also did not have trapezoid shaded area one. is it possible that there are different tests. i had form w.

The 21 was not a grid-in. I do not remember a question with a shaded figure and semi-circles.

Carelessman- i missed that one too for an even more idiotic reason. I forgot to subtract the SUM of all the extracurricular people from 250… so I got a ridiculous number as well. So stupid…

There’s only one version of the test administered today (W for Wednesday). Form S (for Saturday) is administered on Saturday, and then Form A (Alternate) is administered even later I believe.

It just makes me so mad because i had like 2 minutes to go back and check my answers and i did, but i still didnt catch that one

Im just hoping that a miracle happens and im write and all the hundreds of other people on the board are wrong lol (no offense)

Because i could have sworn it was asking for all of the sports players + sports and drama

I just wish i could go and look at the exact wording of the problem now to see what i could have been thinking

OH wow… yep, that problem was from the practice PSAT I crammed from last night. Lol sorry!
But there was one math MC…with options of like 18, 24, and 30? Does that ring a bell with anyone? I couldn’t figure it out, but I guessed 24 I think…

What was the question number in CR for the one about the “placid” girl??
I’m pretty sure it was the last fill-in-the-blank question before the cosmology paragraph and was either number 7, 8, or 9…

For the question about the human’s place in the universe, I remember distinctly that the choice said the BODY’s place in the universe, and since the excerpt was about the mind, I put down the extent of the mind or something like that.

I can’t even remember it anymore. The later it gets, the more useless these discussions are. I guess I’ll just have to wait it out now.

Also, icesk8girl, I think that was the one with the equation 1200 + 2^x. It was about cd sales in January or something, and I think the answer was 30.

I feel like this test is going to be on my mind for a long time.

Hopefully I forget about it by…tomorrow. :P

And I’m just going to have to hope for a miracle and hope that buttress is correct, there was no error on the Egypt question, that Mexican girl was disdainful, and the author was impartial :0

Whatever happens happenssss…

icesk8 girl u divide the square into four quadrants, and then solve. also did u have the question apnoob is talking about on todays psat. the one with y=2x-4 and you had to find area under the line

ahhh no alpha99, that one was a grid-in and I know it’s a different one I’m thinking of (I remember the 1200 x 2^x one, and it’s not that). It’s #17 MC on the first section of math if anyone remembers…!

The placid question was something about a person who despite mean remarks/insults/something like that, remained calm/placid.

Oh really altamash? for the 18, 24, 30 one? What was the right answer? I do know it was a gemoetry questions so I think you’re right…
And yeah I did, the one with the trapezoid’s area? It was 21 for sure.

Thanks apn00b, but I was hoping you could tell me what number it was, not what the question was about… :)

Was that the 2x=3y=4z one or something like that?

Wow, only one other person missed that venn diagram question… i feel soooo smart right about now… ■■■

Businessgrl, YES! I couldn’t figure it out! Do you know what the answer was?

Uh, no…? I thought it had something to do with how people reacted during calamities while that one girl remained placid.
