HELP!!!!

I signed up for the october PSAT and I NEED MEGA HELP!!
Thanks to Hurricane Irene, I haven't able to study for a long time. Now my score is around 190s..
I need to raise just 15 more points!
My CR is around 65. Writing about 55. Math around 70. I really want to raise the writing!! HELP!!!

And don't say Silverturtle, I read it and it didn't help me at all D:

AND CR?!?!?!?! HELPPPP!!! I know the basics, I don't know the rest. It's so confusing!!

HEPLPPPP!

Hakuna Matata.

nuff said.

^ It means no worries for the rest of your days!

NOOOOOO! I’m freaking! The cutoff for semifinalist is 220+ in NY! AND I’M SCORING A 190!

No, the cutoff is ~216-219 for NY.

Anyway, not getting Semifinalist or Commended isn’t nearly the end of the world. They dont provide a significant boost to your College App at all. It just means you scored well on 1 test.

And the scholarship itself is quite difficult to get.

Don’t stress over the PSAT.

But 2 words of advice: Silverturtle.

What practice tests have you taken recently? If you can tell me a book or type up the questions, I’d be happy to explain each one to you in a way you’ll never forget :).

BTW - McGraw-Hill’s has a great grammar review section.

It is a little esoteric, isn’t it :)?

lolll. I’m using McGraw Hills 12 practice tests. And it’s pretty easy. But the grammar I got 10 wrong. Not something I can afford to do in 1 and a hlaf month!

If NY is 220+ then how about the rest of the 49 states?

I have no clue! But I really would like to be a semifinalist D:

Serioulsly, grammar was the easiest section in my opinion.

What are your biggest problems?

I can’t find the problem… Like I read the sentence, and it sounds fine. Even though I know all the grammar rules by heart.

If you know all of the grammar rules and you read SAT sentences and you still think they are fine, then I don’t really know what to tell you. Whenever I read a question/sentence from the writing section, it just sounds terrible. Unless it has no errors of course, but that usually isnt the case. The only thing you can do is keep practicing. Practice only the writing portions without timing yourself and try to get every single one right. If you can, try reading the sentence out loud because sometimes that helps. Then go over the ones you got wrong and understand why the right answer is right. Trust me, if you do this enough times then the next time you see that type of question, you will not get it wrong.

lol. I just finished a practice PSAT and I got a 191. (CR: 63 M:66 W:62)

I guess I’m improving :D
