oh, and for teh question about the physics class, i think i said something like "denounces people who try to explain everything factually without considering the deeper level"...something like that?

Yup, most people I talked to at school agreed on 2 E's in the error corrections... I think one of them was the second to last question.

There was also this one writing question with "belongs" in it. I'm pretty sure it was "belong", so whatever letter that was.

Hm. I only got one "No Error" in the error identification section; it was the one with "toward" in it.

The one on the bottom left of the second page of identification section had no error. It was about some comparison; I can't remember the exact words.

For the Greeks, i put they made what they could of their limited knowledge... because it said the greeks were "primitive" and that robots would have much more technology and insight etc.

for the last "find the error" writing question, i put B. was that right?

daenerys, i put down the same thing as you
i fluctuated between no error and "toward" because i thought "toward" sounded slightly awkward and should have been "towardS" instead
fortunately, i chose no error

i dont remember that question but i think toward is correct....i think they use towards in the UK

Hey guys, does anyone know an appoximate percentile score necessary for consideration for the national merit scholarship or the commended student award.

Differs by state (semifinalist)
lowest is generally mid-200s
highest is low-mid 220s

so i was wondering for one of the last few writing questions

before sentence 6 what transition should you add?

I was vacillating between In a case like this and Whatever the reason and I chose whatever the reason
so I was just wondering what everybody put

then for the math gridin the answer was 120 and i remember i put that but i was wondering what the actual question was

oh yeah i think i put whatever the reason.

Math:

Area of quadrilateral (almost-a-triangle thingy in the grid) – 3.5

Train in the tunnel – 1200

Rst rectangle box– square root

perpendicular line to y=mx+b - -1/2....can anyone else confirm this?

Critical Reading:

which of the following best expresses the claim that Dinesen was a "great mythmaker”- Dinesen constructed a public identity as carefully as she constructed her stories

The parenthetical phrase - emphasize that Dinesen's life is not easily distinguished from the myth

phoenix – she was regenerated after a disappointment and became a successful artist

Fourth paragraph is unique because - is critical of Dinesen's character

The comment implies that - Dinesen's behavior cannot be evaluated in absolute moral terms

which best contrasts Dineson in Kenya and in Denmark - An awe-inspiring figure versus a contradictory individual

Genetically Modified Food Passages:
What would passage 2 say about the risks – acceptable or slight....this one is also split.....its looking like acceptable

Writing:

“John and I” – wrong, should be john and me.

“Indonesia jewels” – wrong, suspending should be suspended

“inspire” – wrong, should be “inspired by”, not “inspired from"

"the service that has increased in cost is" - hospital care

"little advances have been made toward civil rights" - no error

also, at the end of the critical reading section, there were 3 Ds and then 3 Cs

For the perpendicular line, I think I had positive 1/2. Because wasn't the original line y=-2x?

its positive 1/2. like bballguy said the original line was -2x

shouldn't "(square root of x)-3=8" be 121?

I'm pretty sure the answer was -1/2 for that one...

So what was the consensus on the indifferent VS. critical debate? I thought it was critical...

Also, the slight VS. acceptable debate...? I thought that one was slight because I considered the 75% of farmers research.

I don't remember an "all but" on the incontrovertible question, but if there was I didn't see it! :'(

Yes Kenny, in sqrt(X)-3=8 X=121. I don't remember that question, though.

The wheel one... That said a wheel goes 75,000pi inches in 3,000 revolutions... wouldn't 7.5 be the circumference? Then you solve for r in C=2(pi)r? That's what I did...

Yes, 121 was x, the question asked for x-1, so the answer was 120.

fvking hell. the question asked for x-1?!?!
