Psat Official Thread

thecomisar, is your projected Math SAT score range from 720 to 800? I got this online and wanted if this could by any chance mean an 80 on the math section of the PSAT

The range was 76-80 for all three sections.

But is it 760 - 800 for the projected Sat score range too. I think the SAT part is right below the projected psat score range on that sheet. My school still hasn't returned ours. All I have now are the online Sat score ranges.

No, I don't see anything like that.

The cutoff for commended is national. The semifinalist cutoff [CA] is probably that high, but not for commended.

our school has been holding the scores from us because they lost a few of the tests. The thing I am worried about is that I have not been receiving a lot of mail from top colleges recently, only info of a few summer programs in yale, and stanford. I was wondering if you guys immediately were bombed with letters from good schools if you got national merit?

Finally!!! Got my PSAT scores back. It's a 214. Yeah, pretty sad. Good thing I already know what I got on my SAT or else I would be pretty scurred.

223

CR: 3 wrong, 0 omitted-----74
M: 0 wrong, 0 omitted-----80
WS: 4 wrong, 0 omitted-----69

What's wrong with you people? How do you get such high scores?

So anyways, I just found out mine, and it was the highest in my english class (score reports were passed out in english)

CR: 49....oh well, I absolutely hated that section. The dry passages + low time killed me.
M: 60....I sucked at the free response area
W: 62...I'm really good with grammar. I got 7 wrong

Total: 171

I'm a sophomore, and it was my first time. I'll do better when I take the SAT.

i found out mine too just now

CR: 55
M: 60
W: 59

Total 174

considering that i did this kinda blindly im satisfied

Please post the states you live in when you're giving the scores

I'm in CA.

I live in Iowa

has anyone used a psat book that is really good, with a lot of practice tests and explanations?

No, but you can somestimes find old official PSATs on Amazon: 2002-2006.

I'm a freshman and i'm registering for the Sat IIs, and i got the blue book also for free. So i went through the book and it truly seems SOOOOOOOOO EASYYYY. Is this truly how the PSATS will be?

just curious about this one.

how rare is it for a 7th grader to get a 185 on the psat?

I got my scores back on Thursday:

Critical Reading: 49 (I'm so freakin bad at critical, reading. On SAT practice tests, i think my highest critical reading total was around 540 or 560)
Math: 63
Writing: 75 (I was really happy to see this score:) )

How do you guys think I'm doing? I'm a junior in CA.

not good. too low
