Hey just a quick question if someone could give some advice! So I plan on applying to a prep school this fall for my 5th form year, but I was wondering which do they prefer especially at my age and grade level that I am applying for, should I take the PSAT or SSAT? I only want to take one test and score great.

Unless u are already a HS junior now (applying to be a repeat 5th former), u should take the SSAT, so u will know where your test score stands compared to that prep school’s median SSAT score.

If u are a HS soph now, u will not be able to use a PSAT taken this year to qualify for National Merit-- u must take the test in your junior year. You will not be able to squeak by with taking only one test for prep school & National Merit.

Thanks, I understand I would eventually take the PSAT junior year I just was wondering as my current school was offering sophomores to take it, along with the prep schools give the sat/PSAT an option to submit rather than ssat.

Have you taken a practice test for both yet?

I have not. But I eventually will. I guess if your implying for me to choose which test I score higher on I should do that based off og practice tests.

Lots of typos in that last response I sent. Sorry
