What’s your opinion about correlation between IQ and standardized tests? How much role prepping plays and how much is God given?

If you’re wondering if it’s likely that some with an average IQ would score high enough on the PSAT to be top 1%?
I would guess, probably not. I would imagine that those who are scoring in the top 1% have IQs in the 130+ range.
Test prepping helps, but may just helps with overcoming some anxiety and pacing issues.
IQ is a factor, but not the sole factor. Some kids, no matter how hard they prep, will never break past a middling score. Other kids, with no prep, will consistently hit it out of the park on any standardized test.
