PSYCH at Cal and UCLA

Does anyone know if Cal or UCLA has a better psychology program for undergraduates? anyone care to share their experience in either? Thanks!

Berkeley has an awesome psychology program. It's hard to find rankings of the undergraduate program, but I know that US News ranked its graduate program 2nd in the nation behind Stanford.

I'm thinking of majoring in psychology too. I'm still shaky... What branch of psychology are you going for?

hey. right now im just focusing on general psychology...but I have a great interest in psycholinguistics and human development...sometimes even social psychology. I am actually interested in all aspects except for maybe psychobiology and psychiatry...

im really contemplating berkeley..and I cant decide between cal or ucla. Berkeley....though it may have a good program, im not totally crazy about the vibe in that particular area...

ive read that UCLA is not that far behind either...i think it has the 4th best psychology program in the nation.

are you applying soon?

I already got in and sent in my SIR. Yes, I have to say that the vibe is not all that great... But I'll be attending because my major is Business Administration and the school has only 1 of 3 undergrad business programs in the west coast. If I decide to do psychology, then it would be my second major (although its competing with economics right now, and economics is winning..)

But yeah, UCLA is a good school too and you can't go wrong going to berkeley or UCLA. I guess it boils down to the kind of atmosphere you want. The students at Cal are generally more hardworking, and you will face stiffer competition here. On the bright side, though, you'll learn more because you will be pushed to work harder. If you want to go to med school through UCB, I've heard that it's pretty hard and you should go through UCLA instead.
