Psychology

I am an undergraduate student (2nd semester junior) majoring in Political Science. Although I do enjoy studying the vastness of Political Science and theorizing within its Political Philosophy region (wanted to get my Master’s in Pol. Theory), I have been thinking about the possibility of a Master’s and PhD in Psychology. More specifically, Developmental, Cognitive, Social, Counseling, and possibly Sport. My professional experience in the field is limited, but my desire to work in this field and intellectually move it forward has always stuck with me. I believe there is also something to be said for the overlap of Political Science and Psychology; perhaps a discipline to be studied or created.

Professionally, what schools are effective in furthering my academic career (GPAs, experience, etc.)?
Generally, what can I do right now to make myself more valuable for further endeavors?

Although I’m not sure what schools would be good for your specialization (your professors might have a better idea), I can tell you that in order to get into a Master’s/PhD program for psychology, you will probably need some internship or lab experience.
