Public Policy vs Political Science

I'm a sophomore that was recently accepted into the Gerald Ford School of Public Policy. I'm currently a Political Science major and I am having a difficult time deciding which I would like to pursue. I would like to go to grad school to get an MPA if possible after and would really prefer to pursue a career in public administration at the local or state level.

I'm interested in any information or advice that you could give me. If you could explain the differences in programs, class types, career options, differences on resumes, etc. Any would be appreciated. Thank you!

Why not double major?

^ you can’t

^ Why is that?

I you are planning on getting a MPA I would not transfer to the Ford School for undergrad. I would think there would be too much overlap. It would be the same as going to Ross for undergrad and then getting a MBA.
