I know that they are both in the same department (Dodge), and i was wondering if PR is just as competitive as film? Or is it just film that is really competitive in Dodge...

As far as I know…
It is DEFINITLEY not as competitive as film…in fact…everything else in Dodge is not competitive set next to film production (dosn’t mean your automatically in though…)
good luck!

oh i see i see…BUT for PR, they still ask that i submit a separate departmental application for dodge and it asks like for a resume, PR essay and all that stuff when i dont even have much PR experience. so i assumed it was competitive…

so idk…what about comm vs. PR? would they be about the same? because both majors i am fine with. I NEED to get in chapman lol…do you think it would be safer to just apply as a communication studies major?

From what I understand, your major does not improve/decrease your chances of admission
worse case scenario is you’re rejected from dodge and comm studies and are undeclared. You can specify a 2nd choice major on the app though

PR wouldn’t be as competitive as any of the film majors, certainly. But it is going to be more competitive than communications. In other words, if you are qualified for admission to Chapman, being allowed to major in Comm shouldn’t be a problem. Like SoCalScott said, you can definitely apply with PR as your first choice and Comm as your second choice major if you want.

ohh i get it…thanks guys for the help!
