Public School VS. Private School

<p>when applying to college, is public VS private school going to be taken into consideration for admissions?</p>

<p>I have heard that if you go to a private school, you are expected to do better on all tests becuase you "pay" for the education. Thus, meaning that the education level should be higher than that of public students.</p>

<p>Example:</p>

<p>Private School student makes 1280 on SAT (M and CR). Would that look bad comparted to a student who goes to a public school with the same SAT?</p>

<p>I think rather than lumping them all together, it really depends on the individual school. There are some amazing public schools (and I don't just mean ones you have to test into), and there are some less-wonderful private schools. They look at you in the context of the school you attended, not whether or not you paid anything to go there.</p>
