I have found that on certain websites like Amazon and Half I can buy older (2003-05) versions of the review books that I want [I'm trying to self study Micro/Macro/Envir/Stats] and I wanted to know if there were any major changes to those tests since around 2003.....If I can save like 50 dollars by buying like new copies of older books I would gladly do it.

Any other self study suggestions? Are textbooks really needed for the above listed classes?

I know Princeton Review does not change much from each year. I checked the 2004 and the 2008 editions and they were the same thing down to page numbers and the practice tests. I usually get the last year's edition for AP prep books to save a lot of money. Only if the test format has changed, should one get the new edition.

You are going to get conflicting viewpoints on your prep books. Half of the people like Princeton Review and the other half like Barrons. It really depends on your style. If you like concise books, get Princeton Review. If you like long and comprehensive books, get Barrons.

My general thought was that Barrons would be a good idea for the ones I was self studying while princeton would be for the classes I am taking (and micro/macro)
