Purdue Engineering or UMichigan Engineering?

Which school is better for Engineering?

They are similar in so many ways yet different in so many ways that which is better really boils down to the individual.

They are peer schools for engineering. In some disciplines one is ranked higher than the other, and vice versa.

However, assuming admission to the engineering division at each school, Michigan allows declaring an engineering major with a 2.0 GPA, while Purdue requires a 3.2 GPA for assurance of major choice (otherwise competitive, depending on the popularity of the major).

Of course, the other big difference for many students is net price at each.

Congrats, you can’t make a wrong choice. Figure out which you like better for whatever reasons matter to you and go there.

Peer schools and equal.
My son’s at Michigan and @momofsenior1 daughters at Purdue. I am sure we both know many at both schools. We can both tell you why one VS the other but if you are instate to one vs expensive to out state the other do that.

If your outstate to both what are your financial liabilities. Neither school or any school is worth going into debt for when you have these great options.

Keep in mind that many don’t finish engineering and go into something else. Where do you see yourself spending your next 4 years.

Who did you root for in March Maddness? ??.
