<p>Good idea or bad idea? D is reasonably sure she wants to go here, although we are waiting on two other schools (one needs met). She attended a scholarship competition there last weekend - where we were told that the honors dorm fills up quickly (which she really wants). My concern is that a deposit might indicate she will come no matter what the result of the competition. Is this a consideration? In the end, 90% (at least) of the our decision will be financially based.</p>

<p>I’m sure you won’t be the first parent to have paid the deposit and then not attend based on the $. If they want her they’ll come up with the scholarship. It’s good the payment is refundable.</p>
