Hi everyone, I just received a letter in the mail, notifying me that I was selected for the PWC scholars program at the School of Management.

Can anyone shed an insider's light on this program? IE, any perks, any additional activities (specifics?)

Also, I did a bit of researching and apparently the starting salary for PWC is somewhere between 50,000 - 60,000 counting a signing bonus. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks!

I also got an invite (1550 CR+M SAT, 35 ACT, 4.0). It pretty much lays down what it’s all about in the letter. No scholarship is attached which is a bummer, but it provides solid networking oportunities, travel if you want it, etc. A simple Google search brings you to the online page which more or less reiterates what it says on the invite. Nice, little accolade in a nutshell.

Just a few things that I’ve found about the program since I received that same letter:
[B.U. School of Management Scholars Program | ](http://busomscholars.org/) - Page for the program itself.

The requirements include:
Taking an extra 1 credit course each semester (can anyone in the program or with knowledge please elaborate on these seminars? What is discussed in these classes? All descriptions I’ve found seem vague.)
Taking MGMT 150 - Ethical issues in Business your first year.
Doing a scholars community project (involving class credit) during your junior year.
Taking an extra writing class.

However, the perks seem nice.
Guaranteed 1st choice housing as a freshman
Priority class selection within your class
Networking opportunities
Extra advisers
Something involving an international trip.

Hi All,
I’m a student here at Binghamton who is in the School of Management (I’m not a PWC scholar however). zark424 was correct though. While being a PWC scholar is an honor it is also a little extra work. You have to maintain a certain GPA in order to continually enjoy the perks of being a Scholar. Some of the biggest perks of being a PWC scholar are exclusive networking opportunities, priority registration, priority housing and the honor of telling everyone that you’re a PWC scholar. If you’re unfamiliar. PWC is one of the big four accounting firms around today. It is quite an honor to be part of this Binghamton Exclusive program. Congrats to you all.

I am just wondering if you know whether the students that are the Business Scholars are happy with the committment? Do they feel they are getting a worthwhile experience? I saw there are 150 students total? Is it really that selective and worth doing? I guess it would be helpful to speak with someone in the program? For now, maybe you are able to answer some of these questions. Do they really receive the priority housing? Can you tell what the area is called with the new housing? Is that a good place to be?
