Just called admissions office. They don’t have the numbers yet. May have it in next few days.
Any news?
For my “where am I in the process” page, under “College Choices”, the status column just disappeared. Normally, it said “Not Admitted” or “Wait List” next to the college you applied to. But anything like that is gone now.
So while we can’t speculate much, it seems like they’re making some progress on this.
I see that. I hate the waiting.
Called them: May 6 they will know ( this conflicts with what they said earlier) …
They are not sure at this point ?
May 6th was their call-back date last year. Heck, I’d be okay with them calling us 2 days ahead, but I’m fairly certain they’ll need at minimum 1 week to get the waiting list situation finalized for PWL.
My letter is gone from my “where am i in the process” page, anybody else notice this?
All priority wait listed students will receive instructions this morning on how to reconfirm their interest. Check your e-mail, it should be there already.
PWL - SCS
Has anyone gotten anything regarding the priority watilist essay prompt yet? I went to the waitlist info session during spring break and they said they would release the essay prompt on May 1st…but so far there has been no sign, or mention of the essay prompt?
Follow the instructions in the e-mail.
Reconfirm your intention to enroll if admitted by visiting the same waiting list reply form you did earlier this month. You will then receive final instructions by Tuesday morning. There is a big blue ‘contact us’ button on the email for those who have questions. It can’t possibly take more effort than posting questions here.
I’m not sure if there is an actual essay prompt or what the point even is of a priority wait list. It has no bearing whatsoever on their admission stats if a wait listed applicant turns down the offer. They just call the net person on the list. In the end they end up, by definition, only with students who really want to be there. All these hoops to jump through are a little bizarre and pointless if you ask me. I suppose they save a fractional amount of effort since it will take fewer phone calls this way, but they will still end up with kids who will not enroll because they only stayed on the PWL just to see if they’d get in.
How did the waitlist success rate become 0 this year?
We didn’t receive anything.
@njcornellmom i just received an email saying that nobody was accepted off the waitlist this year and the class is already full
I wonder why we didn’t get it.
@njcornellmom check the spam, mine was in there.
Thanks. It just took his longer than expected to get to his inbox.
It’s been really interesting. First, they said that a priority wait list notification will be announced by May 8th. Then, they switched the date to May 6th. Now, they can’t enroll anyone. It seems like the first year in a long time that they haven’t taken anyone off of the waitlist at all (even in 2011, they took in 6).
I wonder why they have been telling certain parents who called that they are having a “writing prompt” uploaded today. Maybe it took them this long to tally up the deposits.
Oh well. Best of luck to everyone else who was on the waitlist, for it might be better in the end to go to the school you guys are currently enrolled in.
