Q About Financial Aid

I applied for Financial Aid and Riverside said I will recieve 18,000. How will I get this money? I know it is usually credited to the student account but will I get a check for the Work Study thing? Do i need to have a job to recieve that money?
here is what GROWL says
FEDERAL PELL GRANT $5,550
UCR GRANT $13,370
Work Study $2,000

Usually, your grant money is subtracted from the total tuition and you have to pay what’s left over. It depends on how you get billed for everything. Some things are monthly and some are quarterly.
If there’s any leftover money, you can either receive a check or have it directly deposited into your bank account.

I’m not sure how work study works but you definitely need to have a work study job in order to get that money. They have work study job fairs so you can go and try to find a job.

The money will be credited to your student account usually within the first week of the quarter.

If the total amount of financial aid exceeds the cost of attendance, the university will mail a refund check for the difference to your permanent address. However, if you have direct deposit setup in growl, the refund will automatically be deposited into your bank account. Please note that it will take longer to receive the refund if you elect to have it mailed to your permanent address.

As for work study, you must apply for a federal work study job on campus to receive that money.
