I am currently a junior, but I am trying to start figuring out my plans for college applications. Swarthmore is my first choice and I had been planning to apply there ED next year. But I was wondering would it be better to apply ED or hope that I become a QB finalist and select them as my first choice in the matching?

I don’t think a lot of people get in through Match (a couple hundred out of say, 4000-ish people… check on the QB website). But even if you don’t apply through Match, I think you should do QB. Swarthmore is an amazing school! Good luck.

You can apply for questbridge, become a finalist, put that on your commonapp and apply ED. so that they know your a finalist but that its your first choice. i wish i had thought of that.

if you want, you can go for the NCM and put 8 choices. the benefit also is that you cant get rejected. through ED you might not have another chance but NCM they will consider you twice no matter what

Something to consider in your specific situation is that Swarthmore offers two ED rounds, Fall and Winter. I know some QB finalists who weren’t accepted through QB in the fall but were accepted (and are happily attending) through EDII.
