Quality of life at duke, northwestern,Upenn, UChicago

How is the quality of life (Dorms, Student Life, Most fun) in the 4 schools: duke, northwestern,Upenn, UChicago

I can’t speak for the other universities, but I can for Duke. Honestly, quality of living is a bit disappointing. You’ll be randomly assigned a dorm. The newer ones (Randolf, Blackwell, and Bell Tower) have ACs and elevators and have modern feels to it. The older/rest of the ones (Brown, Wilson, Pegram, Giles, Alspaugh, etc) don’t. It gets really hot in summer times and super cold (so you’d have to manually regulate the temperature with the water heater in the old dorms).

In your Sophomore+ years, the older dorms like Craven, Crowell, and Edens look like jail cells. You’re going to have to put in effort and rely on luck to get into the better/newer dorms like Keohane and Kilgo.

You’d think the amount of money you’re giving Duke would at least get you a solid normal room to stay in.
