queer-friendly LACs?

I had read all those articles and I have other information. To each their own opinion and the OP obviously had concerns that were not without merit. Obviously not every student going to Reed does drugs or has a drug problem. Every story has two sides, and people considering Reed will no doubt look at both sides and make their own decisions.

All that is fine. However, when you’re citing an article, choose a better, more balanced one? Also, for all your malice towards Reed, realise that drugs are not part of the culture at Reed. Reed wouldn’t be the college it is today, if it was all about drugs. There are plenty of students who live all 1460 odd days of their lives at Reed without ever consuming mind-altering substances. Your (misinformed) opinions on Reed, just like xcatastrophex’s educational consultant’s, shouldn’t colour others’ views on the matter, and when you post a sensationalist article, you’re trying to do just that. That’s all I’m saying.

Paradox, I appreciate you defending Reed College. I know that all colleges have drugs, I’m not stupid. And I understand that Reed graduates go on to do excellent things. That is not my concern with drugs. My concern is that they are widely used and accepted. I have done my research on this. Please, no bickering on my thread!

xcatastrophex, you and I guess in a sense, boiledegg, are implying that drugs are encouraged at Reed because there is an openness about it-which is absolutely not true. Like I said, you can go sober through Reed and you will never once feel pressured to do drugs or questioned your choice. Reed believes in being open about it only because there is a tacit approval of every Reedie’s individual choices being respected and acceptance for all kinds of people-whether they be straight edge or into drugs.
Anyway, I’m glad you’ve found that Reed isn’t for you-it’s better knowing earlier than later. However, as BrownParent said, this is an open forum and I don’t want myths and misinformation people read about Reed on here being perpetuated, and that’s why I made a case for Reed.
