So, I'm applying for Questbridge...and it's due today!!!

Anyway, if I apply, and say I don't make the cut, which I won't find out until October 20-something...I can still apply SCEA to Stanford, correct? But...if I want to send in a fine arts supplement, that's due on October 15-ish -- several days before I find out whether or not I made the cut for Questbridge. So, what do I do?

Am I not allowed to send in the supplement? I really am worried about that. Because I have a feeling that I probably won't get the Questbridge Scholarship, so I want to know that I can still apply early with all the benefits of applying early as though I didn't apply for Questbridge. If I knew Questbridge was so binding, I probably wouldn't done it. Oy vey.

just send the supplement, ur ED/EA school won't consider you until u send everything in right? I have same concern, so I wil still do everything for my EA/ED school, because finalist i am not sure about it

I don't think you can do SCEA to Stanford if you go through QuestBridge. You'll have to apply RD.

If you don't like that it's binding / restrictive, I'd recommend not applying to QuestBridge -- the app isn't due just yet. Instead, you could just go straight for SCEA, especially since getting in through QuestBridge is very difficult. If you're not a URM, then it's even more difficult. On top of that, Stanford considers its own application (the Common App) for the Match program, so what you put into the QuestBridge application is seen by pretty much only the QuestBridge staff, rather than the schools you rank too.

So, in the last 12 or so hours until the app is due, make sure that you're fine with the above.

Hey I'm applying to Quest Bridge also. Yep, submitted app yesterday, now just waiting for a counselor rec to get in. Forgot to fax test scores so must do that on Mon.

I remember reading that the college match is binding, except for Stanford, Yale, Princeton and Notre Dame?

Also, is that supplement only for Fine Arts, i.e. is the normal supplement due before oct. 26?

The application and all supporting documents (transcript, scores, recommendations) are due by 11:59 PM, September 30th. Not sure how lenient they are.

I think I'll take my chances and send it in. But I still have to finish my essays. Since the deadline is 12 AM Pacific Daylight Time, I can send it in by 3 AM Eastern Time, right? I won't cut it that close, but I just want to know that I have more time than I think I do.

I contacted them and they said that if I forgot the scores I could fax it in Monday without any penalty provided I include a sheet detailing the aformentioned scenario. I'd say they are fairly lenient, afterall, they are a non-profit organization helping students. They have little to gain, and they seem intent on actually helping students.

So you get an extension even though you "forgot" to fax one of the most important parts of the app? Hmm...

Well no, my school does not keep track of scores so I thought that one would need to ask collegeboard to request they send it, which I did. However, upon emailing questbridge, I learned that it was fine to fax the sheet that collegeboard sent us (i.e. the scores). But at that time, it would be too late to ask my school, so questbridge told me it was fine to do it Monday. Honestly, I don't see what's the problem...this is questbridge we're talking about; a program that helps low-income students does not strike me as having strict guidelines, as the primary purpose of the program is not to see how well students follow rules, especially when my mistake was out of a misunderstanding--an understandable misunderstanding as sending scores through a school is highly unorthodox, according to my school.

My counselor faxed her rec in on Fri morning, but it still hasn't shown yet...Me thinks she faxed it wrongly...I wonder if they'll allow her to fax it in on Monday if I call in.

lols. DOnt worry your courseload is pretty good.
It looks as if yu lack some natural intelliegence from ur test scores but no worries if you go to a reaaly respected hs your grades will help.
