Questbridge College Match!!!

Hey! For anyone who has been matched through Questbridge or who knows someone that has, when you find out if you’ve been matched, do they tell you all the colleges the matched or just the one hays closest to #1? Thank you so much to anyone that can answer this!

That’s*

It’s a great matching algorithm, one that guarantees all matched students go to their highest-possible college, and all colleges get their highest-possible ranked students, too. I’ll bet the thing takes a very long time to run, because every time any student gets bumped off of a college’s list, the algorithm goes through all that student’s choices again looking for possible matches.

Therefore, all finalists end up either matched to one (and just one) school, or are not matched, and that’s all the information there is.

If not matched, don’t worry, because more finalists get admitted to the partner schools later, than get admitted with the match.

Thank you so much! I am currently creating my list and I can’t decide whether Tufts or Vanderbilt would be a better fit for me. I want to go into Pre-Med and I like Liberal Arts but I also like D1 schools. Are there specific pros and cons between the two?

Nashville and Boston areas… Vanderbilt 24,000 undergrads, Tufts 10,000… Greek life is huge at Vanderbilt… Tufts counts Biology and Community Health among its strongest programs… Tufts is said to be more like Brown than any other Ivy, Vanderbilt has about an equal split of conservatives and liberals. Both are great schools with more pros than cons, but they are very different from each other.

I think they use Stable Marriage algorithm (so they dont do it manually).

@badpundit Vanderbilt- about 7k undergrad; 6k grad.Tufts about 5k ug; 5k grad.

@2inanddone Thanks for correcting my mistakes. I think I quoted Vandy’s number of applicants and Tufts total enrollment. @lifeishardomg I’m sorry about that.
