QuestBridge for Internationals?

Hello everybody. I’m an international student whose citizenship is in an East Asian country, but I will be receiving my green card a month or two after the QuestBridge application deadline closes. A couple of questions:

Will I be at a disadvantage as an international applicant in the QuestBridge process? My first choice school, if it helps, would be the University of Chicago, which apparently does not consider my citizenship status in admissions UNLESS I apply for financial aid as an international (they’re need-aware for internationals).

If I didn’t apply for QuestBridge, I would still apply ED to UChicago, not apply for financial aid, and probably take out some loans/see what my family can scrap together (this is what they wanted for me––I initially was hesitant about burdening my family financially). However, would UChicago still consider my international financial aid problem in the context of a QuestBridge application?

If I am disadvantaged because I’m an international, is it possible for me to update them on my new status once I receive my green card?

Overall, what would give me a better chance of getting in: applying as a QuestBridge finalist, or applying ED without any aid?

Thanks everybody.

You can only apply as an international if you attend a US high school. If that’s the case, you won’t be at a disadvantage. Once you have your green card, let QB/colleges know of the change in status.
