I though that since it's supposed to come out soon that there should be one in order for people to ask questions and help each other with the application.

I'll buy in. My D is applying, we are in the process of deciding where and how to rank. I never would have known about it if it weren't for CC though.

Yea, i'm also applying, just looked through some of it earlier this morning. I just don't know how many to rank. So far it's
1. Stanford
2/3. Yale/Princeton (not sure which is first or second)
I think that's all i am applying to through quest bridge, but who knows?

Any on else applying through Questbridge?

I am!!!
rankings are as followed:
1. PRINCETON XD
2. Yale
3. Stanford
4. Columbia
5. UChicago (maybe)

do we have to add a supplement later? becuase last year's application required one sooooo.... ya.

also I would just like to put it out there that I think it is unfair that we have to re-sumbit teacher/counselor recs and forms to the colleges. I don't mind re-doing essays. But ya this is just me rantting :)

Sheed30 are you going to do RD with QB too?

Yea, I am doing QB regular as well for like a lot more of the schools (including Chicago, Rice, and Columbia) and for RD i think we have to send supplements for some of them ...

hmm I don't think you can do Columbia for RD QB
you can for just RD separatly

o, damn.............

I'm a little confused about QuestBridge... I understand that if you don't get into a school through QuestBridge, you're free to apply RD anyway...

Well, I'm definitely going to apply SCEA to Stanford, so can I apply to Stanford with QuestBridge too???

Can you even apply to other schools with QuestBridge and apply to SCEA Stanford?

Good luck everyone

Flippy yes you can. But it's even earlier than early action. and you can do more than one school, however it's like early decision, you apply and if you are accepted you HAVE to go.

I also had a question, you know when they ask for parent's education, Well, my dad has a PhD (but has never done anything with it) could i just put I don't know...they won't really care will they?

Flippy you can not apply for another ED or SCEA programs if you are doing the QB Match program
you can however do EA
but Stanford is SCEA

google2008, Stanford is part of Questbridge though...so he can just apply to Stanford through Questbridge right?

Yeah, but I think I'd be more likely to get in with SCEA Stanford...

Sheed30, if your father has a PhD you should put it down even if he has never done anything with it. I think you would hate to get far into the process and then be rejected bc they found out you were not truthful on your app. I am sure they do some sort of background checking on applicants to make sure that they are reporting things accurately and finding out the level of education that one's parent has would be one of the easiest things to find out. You can find out virtually anything about anyone with a little research (and I am not talking about Google either). I work in fraud/money laundering management at a large US Bank and we have various systems in place that are available to anyone at a cost and you can pretty much find out everything about anyone you want. We live in very cautious times and no one is going to hand you over $100K gift without checking on the accuracy of your app first.

alright thank you!

Anyone know how to send ACT scores to Questbridge? :Like the code or anything? I already signed up for the ACT but didn't put any colleges down..what should i do?

so stressful doing College applications and studying for standardized tests at the same time. I have to study for FOUR tests= SAT Spanish, Math and US History and ACT + writing. On top of that, I have a BUSY year a head of me (where I won't get home till like 8) and school starts this Monday for me. yay

does anyone know if Questbridge penalize you if you haven't take all the required tests? I'm planning to take those 3 SAT subjects and ACT...but is it all too late? I hope they don't defer me to regular decision just because of that!

quick question: if you are selected as a QB finalist, do you HAVE to use your QB app when you apply to colleges? and do you use the same recs that you used to apply for QB? ..Or can you use the common app?
