Question about acceptance rate

everybody says everyone gets in the u of alabama if they apply on time…but why such a low acceptance rate?
Is it hard to get in? (maybe compared to LSU)

“everybody says everyone gets in the u of alabama if they apply on time”

Who is everybody? I think “everybody” is wrong. There are people whose opinions are based on old info.

There was a time when that may have been almost true, but Bama now has an acceptance rate in the 40s, so it hasn’t been true for awhile. Bama is more “lenient” early on in the app season, but “more lenient” doesn’t equal everybody gets in.

I won’t be feeding the ■■■■■…I think that this “person” is one.

I’m not a ■■■■■. If you dont have any helpful advice, then dont comment. Simple as that.

Michigan- the common data set is a federally mandated report that every university must file. I looked up Alabama’s for 2011-2012 (this year’s is not yet available) and it shows 23,136 freshman applicants and that 9636 of these were offered admission. I wouldn’t call that “everyone”. I am a Virginia resident and of all our public universities, the only ones that are MORE selective than Alabama are UVA and William &Mary.
