I currently attend a low-income, low-testing (talking like bottom 2% in the state) small 2B school. Because of this, all of our AP classes are online. I'm currently taking APUSH, and plan on talking AP chem and AP bio. My school will not be providing any of the AP exams and I was wondering how important taking the AP exam is? If I get an A in a class but not take the exam how bad does that look on an application?

In general, AP scores will carry little to no weight in the admissions decision; they are primarily used for credit and placement. Taking the course enhances rigor, which colleges love.

That said, you may qualify for a fee reduction and be able to take the test at another local site if desired. If your potential college accepts the score for AP credit, it seems a waste to forgo it.
