Question about citizenship status? (international student)

I finished all of my college application a few months ago basically, but one question just popped up my mind and made me curious.
How does U.S. college determine which country you are from if you are a dual citizen?
I’m a Canadian Taiwanese (or Taiwanese Canadian) born in Canada and currently residing in Taiwan.
My school is an American School in Taiwan for foreigners only and it offers a U.S. high school diploma, assisted by the U.S. Department of the States.

When I was filling up the common application, I filled these information up in the citizenship and birthplace sections.
But after all, do they put me in the pool of Canadian or Taiwanese?

I don’t think it matters much for admission, as both will be an international student status, but I’m just very curious about this.

Correct. All internationals would be lumped together. The only time dual citizenship matters is if one of them is US, then, for most colleges, you would be considered a domestic applicant.

If push came to shove, and the college had to put you in a bucket, I would guess Taiwan, but that is really the college’s choice.
