there's a program i developed that's going to officially start this spring. but it's a really good EC imho. so would it be fine if i describe this program and say i already did it (like say i did it last summer)? i already planned it all out so it's just as good as done but it's officially starting this spring, after college apps would already be submitted. any advice would be great. thanks!

If it’s planned but not yet done, don’t say it’s done. Be honest about it. Good luck.

If you have worked for it, then you can put that. But you should not say that it has started if it hasn’t. In fact, knowing that you’re excited about something that hasn’t started yet might be interesting to an adcom if you mentioned it in your interview or something.

I agree with Sherpa. Tell them all the great things that you have done with the program to date and what your expectations are for the program. There is worth in a start up that is not quite off the ground yet. Tell them all about the planning aspects and what you hope to accomplish.

ok i will do that! i wasn’t sure if it was really being dishonest since i KNOW i’m going to do it this spring, but if you guys think it’d be better to talk about my plans and everything instead, i’ll trust you. :)

I think that shows passion and honesty in what you want to accomplish and what you are currently working on. There is nothing wrong with that. Think of an entrepreneur that has to propose a business plan to a lender. It’s kinda like that and it shows you are a go getter. Good luck!

thank you for all the advice and well wishes! :D
