Question about counting number of college students in net price calculators

Dumb question but...When the net price calculator asks about the number of kids in college for a family, do they mean for the first year the student would be in college, or over the next four years. Example, would someone list just herself, or would she count siblings who'd be starting college two years after her. Thanks in advance.

It would just be the number of students for that calendar year. So for 2015 if there is only one child enrolled in school, the number would be one. You can play around with the calculator and enter in different numbers to see how your family contribution might adjust at the years go on and the number in school changes.

You can’t list siblings that won’t be in college next year. You can’t even be sure that a younger sibling will ever go to college.

EFC is going to be calculated based on what your family will be facing NEXT YEAR based on their finances and how many children they will have in college in Fall 2015.
