This is my first time posting, so I'll start off by saying hi to everyone. Hi!

Currently, I'm in a community college majoring in Associates of Computer Science. I'm close to finishing my courses and plan on transferring to a 4-years university. I started to have second thoughts about majoring in Mathematics since the degree is more versatile than Computer Science.

My plan is to complete either Comp Sci or Math and continue on with flight school to get a job within the airline industry as a pilot, then find something related in aerospace industry as a test pilot.

I was wondering if I should complete my associates in computer science then transfer to a university for a bachelor of science in mathematics.

Or, get my associates in computer science, get my bachelor in computer science with a minor in math?

I also forgot to mention. If I were ever to lose my pilot license due to medical reason or can’t fly… I would want a degree that I can fall back on. Choosing between Computer Science or Mathematics. Which degree would actually help get a job within the aerospace industry?

There are lots of CS positions in the aerospace industry. A CS degree can also be a more well-rounded degree than you might realize since one can head down many paths upon graduation. As you probably know, you’ll generally take a lot of math in the pursuit of a CS degree. It’s debatable but it might be easier to find a decent paying job with a CS degree but really, you should decide what you’d actually want to ‘do’ (staistics, programming, avionics, EE, aerospace engineering, physics, etc.) and let that guide you to the major.
