Hello
My parents(E-2 Visa, I have U.S citizen) just sent the Parent plus loan application and thought it would be fine. However they sent us an email that Non-citizen parents cannot get the federal loan. I dont think they know about our parents having E-2 visa yet but do you guys have any idea how to handle this situation? because without loan its pretty much impossible to pay for my college
thank you

Isn’t E-2 the investor visa? Does that make them a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident? Those are the eligibility requirements for Plus loans.

They might apply for a private loan instead, and may get a better rate. Also, since they’ve been refused, you’re eligible for an additional Stafford loan of $4,000 this year. Contact your college and the lender.
