Question about desk chairs in the dorms

I had read somewhere on c.c. that students can’t remove dorm furniture. What about desk chairs? The ones in the dorms don’t look like they would be too comfortable. I was thinking maybe one of those small, task chairs on wheels with the ability to tilt back a bit would be nicer.

Any current students bring their own desk chairs? And, if so, where do you store the one that comes in your room?

You should probably call housing.

Good idea Zungra! I know that my son is wondering the same thing. he is a guitar player and he doesn’t like chairs with arms. He is hoping to be in Cerro and to be able to store his chair somewhere. Calling housing about it is a great idea!

I’ll do that, too. Thanks, Zungra. Just hoped maybe some current students might be able to answer, as well. :)

It was kind of a gamble, posting such a radical idea, but for some reason I just have the feeling that calling people who definitely know is better than posting on a forum where little to none will know.

Oh, definitely! I’ll ask my daughter to give them a call if she wants to bring a different chair.

The desk chairs actually aren’t that bad. They are kind of like rocking chairs and so u can rock back in them (which is scary at first but then u get used to it and it’s nice). If u buy a cushion for them they are a ton more comfortable.

^ I didn’t realize they were like rocking chairs. Is that the same for every dorm room? Nice!

My daughter went ahead and called and they told her that no furniture was allowed to leave the room. The only way would be to have an MD’s note for a medical condition. She said she’ll be fine with the chair that’s already there. ;)

I know the ones in cerro and north mountain rock back, and I’m pretty sure the ones in the other dorms are the same.
