question about early decision

both early decision I and early decision II are binding, correct? is it advantageous to apply early decision I instead of early decision II? is it much more harder to get accepted by applying regular decision?

can anyone help?

google vanderbilt admission blog then follow the links on the right to see comments on ED rounds in the last couple of cycles

also you can type in Common Data Set in most college search windows and get last year’s accurate data

It is significantly easier to get into Vandy ED which is still not easy. There is some randomness and difficulty in predictions when there are too many qualified applicants at any college so read up on the blogs and also make sure to do thoughtful applications and to get to know a handful of colleges well, including a safety admission that meets your needs…good advice for anyone

neither one of my sons attended their initial top two or three college crushes. Best to build a sensible list and to be very realistic re odds and prepare for surprises

thanks for the suggestions faline. i did look at the data and the blogs and they helped. at this point, i really just need to visit and see if i really want to apply ed. i also need to calculate my efc. my list of colleges includes a match or two, and i feel i could be happy at them.

very good, barefoot. The EFC/CSS Profile is a deal breaker in May for many students…so make sure that in December you are prepared to pay your figure. Best wishes and remember that many “Match” colleges have excellent professors and difficult rigorous courses
