Greetings. I am currently a freshman student at a 4 year University who is looking to Transfer. My question revolves around the amount of weight that is put on an applicant’s activities and extracurricular involvement at their current school when being considered for admission. For example at my current institution, I am a member of a Division 1 Sports Program. Due to this I get an limited opportunity to partake in other University clubs due to athletic constraints and regulations. Will this have a significant impact on my admission chances? My athletic conference is in the Big Sky.

The fact that you are an athlete in a Division 1 team means that is really all that’s needed. That is a huge time commitment- and your athlete status is valued even if you don’t play for your next school but particularly if you do.
@lostaccount Thank you. The school I play for isn’t considered that big, and I am transferring to highly selective schools (Duke, Northwestern, Colombia, etc). So I just wanted to get a confirmation on that.
