Question about ED and Sending Scores

Hi, everyone, I have found a college I am relatively sure I will be applying ED to - the deadline is November 15th. Their website says that if you are applying ED, the latest sitting for which you can register for the SAT/SAT subject tests is the November sitting. The college requires 2 SAT subject tests. I have one (math II, 790) and will take lit in October. When I take the lit test, do I have to send the score before I see it in order for the college to see it on time, or could I wait for the score to come out, and then, if I like it, send it in (as opposed to retaking the test in November if I don't feel confident after the test)?

Just in case I end up taking a test in November, same question: do I have to send it directly to the college, or can I decide whether or not to send it after I've seen the score?

Apologies if this has already been asked, but I wasn't really sure what to search for. Thanks in advance :)

The answer to this will probably be in the college’s FAQ section - if it isn’t there consider emailing the admissions team. I had a similar question in a thread of mine, so you may want to read it.

P.S. Thanks for your posts, nearly all of them have helped me clear the fog that is the college admissions process. Best of luck!

I would email the specific schools and ask. I have a November 1 deadline, so I emailed the school and asked if I could take the October SAT and whether I needed to rush the scores. They said I could take them and I don’t have to rush them. So I would definitely email them and see what they say!

@bamboo17 Great, thanks! :)

@marianna221b and anyone else who may have a similar question - I finally emailed the college, and they said that I should contact the College Board directly… so now I’m waiting for a response from CB. I’ll post again when I get a response :)

Thank you! I too would love to see the response…

Ugh. There should really be a guide somewhere to clear these things up.

@marianna221b‌ @Bemusedfyz‌ College Board’s response to my question on Facebook:

So, looks like we’re fine. Though, it would be nice to have a definite answer as opposed to a “you should have enough time”… at least, if I get in trouble for having one late score, I can show them that the College Board said I’d be fine…

Haha, yeah, you can. Thank you so much for sharing the results! @LAMuniv‌
