Do I have to apply to the colleges I want to go to before filling out the FAFSA? I know this may be a stupid question because they'll probably need my GPA and ACT scores but I'm just making sure.

I’m not sure if this is a spoof posting . . . but the last question on the FAFSA is about where you want the FAFSA results to go. You can designate up to ten schools. You don’t have to have the college applications completed to select them to receive the FAFSA.

There are no questions on the FAFSA about your GPA or your ACT or SAT scores.

Hope that helps.

Alright thanks that answers part of my question. However I know there are some state scholarships and grants that depend on GPA and ACT scores, how will they know if I’m eligible if Ive not applied and provided that information? There are also general scholarships through the university that depend on GPA and ACT, but I’m positive you will be eligible for them once you complete your application.
