Question about "Program" vs "School" accreditation (Please Help)

I want to become a Electronics Engineering Technician and obtain a job in Manufacturing Computers.

I was planning on attending San Joaquin Delta College to pursue a Associates in Electronics Engineering Technology, But I learned that particular Major is not Accredited by any accreditation organization, including ABET.

The School itself is accredited by the CHEA but that particular major is not.

In California their is currently no Associates College that has an accredited Engineering Technology program.

My question is, does it matter if the program itself is not accredited as long as the SCHOOL is accredited?

ABET mostly accredits Bachelors Degrees in Engineering. What you are proposing is an Engineering Technology Associates degree and there are not too many of those accredited by ABET. This means that employers are likely not looking for the ABET accreditation for these kinds of jobs.

The CHEA accreditation that you mention is important because it at least guarantees that the university indeed does what it says it is supposed to do. It is always best to make sure your school has been accredited by its regional accrediting body. This does not guarantee the quality of a specific program.
